The Future As you may be aware, the Practice is having to close the Westgate end of the Practice. This is due to our Landlord's desire to sell the property, empty, on the open market, at a price well beyond our means and that of the NHS. Other similar, central properties are impossible to find, so we have decided to put all our eggs in one basket and develop the Tangmere end of the Practice. This involves the construction (currently well underway) of a brand-new, purpose-built surgery very close to our existing premises.
There will be the capacity, both in terms of staffing and space, to see ALL patients of the Practice at the new surgery, and ALL will be welcomed. We are just a few minutes east of the city centre, with a spacious car park, and quite close to the local bus route (we are negotiating to see if it can come right past the door). With all doctors and nurses working under one roof, we aim to stagger surgeries through the day to make it more convenient for all. We are handing out a letter to all patients attending Westgate, and details will also appear in the local Press. In addition, we have a sheet of frequently-asked questions - regularly updated - at Wesgate, but please feel free to ask anything of all staff at both surgeries if you have concerns. The estimated changeover will hopefully occur this coming October. We crave your forebearance during this time of change, but hope for a seamless transition, with no loss of continuity in the excellent standard of care we strive to provide.
